Fire & RescueFire fighting and rescue services in Malaysia are primarily provided by the Fire and Rescue Department (www.bomba.gov.my). The professional services offered by the department addresses incidents and disasters such as fire, leakage/spillage/explosion of dangerous materials, road accidents, air and sea disasters, and control of open burning. Any incidents requiring intervention and support of the department should be reported immediately. The relevant emergency telephone numbers are: Fire – 994 Police – 999 (from a landline) or 112 (from a mobile phone) Ambulance and Emergency - 991(from a landline) or 112 (form a mobile phone) Offshore search and rescue services including the coordination of such operations are also offered by the Peninsular Malaysia Marine Department which provides these services to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Malaysian Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association (www.mvfra.org) also provides a wide range of fire and rescue-related services to the public.
