Vision

To be a leading body in coordinating and monitoring raw water activities in the State of Melaka for the well-being of the people and the progress of the state.

 

Mission

To ensure that raw water resources and their environment are preserved and sustainable to support the socio-economic development of a progressively viable state.

 

Objectives
  • To provide an adequate and good-quality supply of raw water to meet the needs arising from population growth and socio-economic development of the state.

  • To function as a planner, implementer, coordinator, facilitator, researcher, and enforcer effectively, systematically, and efficiently in the development and management of raw water resources.

 

Core Functions
  1. Supervise and regulate raw water supply services, including determining raw water quality standards and enforcing relevant laws.

  2. Ensure an optimum raw water supply at reasonable charges and guarantee that the supplied water is safe.

  3. Act as an advisory body to the State Authority on any matters related to raw water supply.

  4. Promote and encourage raw water supply to advance the economic development of the State of Melaka.

  5. Monitor license holders to ensure they fulfil obligations imposed under the Enactment and other regulations and ensure they can finance activities permitted under their licence.

  6. Ensure license holders pay raw water abstraction charges in accordance with the prescribed rates.

  7. Regulate and monitor pollution of water sources and raw water.

 

Client Charter
 

(i)

Ensure that the dam water level data report is updated daily in the Data Center system. 

(ii)

Ensure a target increase of 30 new licence holders each year.

(iii)

Ensure that written approvals are granted within one (1) day from the date of submission.

(iv)

Ensure that action is taken on water source pollution complaints within 24 hours.

(v) Ensure that licences are issued within seven (7) working days from the date of meter reading receipt.
(vi) Ensure that raw water bills are issued to licence holders within seven (7) working days from the date of meter reading receipt.
(vii) Ensure that the department’s technical review is issued within fourteen (14) working days from the date of application receipt.
